Even if you hold your laptop up to your face like a flip phone, talking into your computer is lame. You want to use Google Voice like a real phone with buttons and stuff. We’ll tell you how.
- If you don’t have it already, you’re going to need a Google Voice account. It’s easy. If you live in the US, you can get a
- Google Voice number @ https://www.google.com/voice for free.
- Get a OBi110 Voice Service Bridge and VoIP Telephone Adapter (http://www.amazon.com/OBi110-Service-Bridge-Telephone-Adapter/dp/B0045RMEPI)
- Plug in your OBi110 or OBi100 to an open network port on your router.
- Plug in a standard phone (corded or cordless) to your OBi110 or OBi100.
Ensure your Google Voice account is configured to make and receive calls. - Obtain the IP address of your OBi110 or OBi100 by dialing *** and “1″ from the phone you connected to the OBi device (you’ll need the IP for step 7)
- Finish the OBi110 configuration by accessing the automated account configuration wizard.
Click configure and enjoy FREE incoming and outgoing calls using your Google voice account.
