Roger is the dude at work who babysits the servers, checks the backups, monitors the network and yes, the dude who replaces monitors. The dude who is into all things motorized. Cars, Motorcycles, Machines, Planes, Boats, it don’t matter. If it has engine, he will get involved. The dude who does the maintenance on the brand new car because he trusts no one. Well…. more like OCD to the point that he will go behind the tech so that he can sleep easy. The dude you call when you need that funky tool to change your brakes or need MDS/AFM disabled.
Roger started at the age of 10 turning wrenches and playing PC games. Known as the little wiz kid on the BBS’s because of his drive to write bat files to skip unwanted start-up programs from loading impacting dial up game performance. As the video games got boring, he turned his energy towards the lawn mower. How does this work, he asked? After studying the mower, he turned to the weed eater. Ok…. where is the motor oil located, he asked? After figuring out the difference between 4stroke and 2stroke, a GearHead was born.
Roger the Engineer attended college and was picked up by the I.T. team of the college. Being that it was a college, he had access to the latest and the greatest so he started testing out what he was learning. This drive landed him a position in the executive branch with in the college. Continuing to learn, he spawned into an engineer experienced in designing, implementing and administering client/server solutions using Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Server, SUSE Linux, NetWare, and Ubuntu. Experienced in designing, implementing, and securing data networks using SonicWall, Bluecoat, Internet Security and Acceleration Server, Contivity, Cisco Pix, and Cisco solutions. Also experience in monitoring data networks using ethereal, EMC S.M.A.R.T.S., eTrust IDS, NetQos, CiscoWorks LAN Management solutions.
Roger the Gearhead was known as the kid who took apart everything. Leave him along with something as simple as the TV remote, come back and it’s in pieces. After a couple of failed attempts and sore rear-ends, he learned how to reassemble his projects to go undetected. This little punk gained the important skill of reverse engineering. This skillset gave him the ability to complete a body off restoration of a 1963 VW beetle, frontend totaled 1990 Toyota pickup restoration, custom restoration of a 1980 CB750, a “someone else’s failed attempt” restoration of a 2006 Kodiak ATV, VR6 engine swap MK1 rabbit……
Roger the Coach started as the dad the sitting in the stands who couldn’t say no. This inability to say no ended up making him a assistant coach for 6 year and counting. He ended up helping with every level of girls fast pitch softball besides college. Recreational 6u-14u, Travel Ball and High School Ball. This inability also landed him on the recreation board of directors as the Field Maintenance Director, Park Maintenance Director and Recreation Leagues Director. He was also voluntold that he was the Treasurer of the high school softball booster club.
